Honor Your Time & Energy
/Time & Energy Are Your Currency
Your time and energy are critical assets. The majority of us are time-starved making these two assets even more important. When we think about how we allocate our time and energy, we often think about how we want to spend our downtime, time with the people most important to us, and our careers.
One thing that’s important to keep in mind is that your time and energy are equally as important when it comes to working toward your goals. Health and wellness wise or otherwise, spending your time and efforts in an efficient way can be critical to success.
For example, when we think about health, weight loss and wellness, why waste your time on habits, and action steps that aren’t working for you?
A few examples to think about:
👉Why work so hard during the week to manage your nutrition and calorie intake only to erase your deficit or completely blow it on the weekend?
👉Why simply go through the motions when it comes to workouts when you can be intentional about them to accomplish whatever your goals are - strength, better endurance, better cardiovascular capacity, mobility, etc.
👉If your overall goal is improved health and wellness, why drastically restrict calories and eat foods that don’t allow you to feel in function your best? Neither will accomplish overall better health.
How To Prioritize Your Own Time
Instead, commit to the habits and action steps that you know you can follow through with. That might take:
Analyzing your schedule to figure out what truly works for you
Getting real with yourself about your commitment level
Doing an inventory of your current habits to figure out which ones need to stay and which ones need to go
Prioritize your goals and yourself as you would any other appointment or deadline in life
Set up a system for self accountability in order to follow through
