What Is Acupressure?
Before I get into my findings of the Dosha Mat, I want to explain acupressure. I’ve posted pics and video of using the mat on Instagram and many people have reached out asking exactly what acupressure is and what it can do for you. Acupressure is a technique similar to reflexology or even acupuncture. What I Liked About The Dosha Mat
I followed the recommendations provided with the acupressure mat and started with just a few minutes at a time and worked my way up to 15 minutes and more. I used it by walking on it, laying on it and sitting on it. My favorite way to use this acupressure mat is to stand or walk on it. It feels so good on my feet. I’m on my feet so much at our fitness retreat that it’s no wonder walking on it feels amazing to me.
When I first started using the mat, I was surprised at how good it felt! The acupressure pieces are pretty hard in composition but I felt like my feet were being massaged in a really good way. Now, I look forward to my daily acupressure session. I have used it mostly on my feet because I feel like they need it the most but I had the same feeling when I put it under my back to lay on it and sit on it as well.
What I’ve experienced most while using the acupressure mat is a strong sense of relief and calm. The relief I’ve felt has been within my tight achy feet and back and the sense of calm has been an overall mental and physical sense of relaxation — almost the type of relaxation experienced after a really good massage or spa treatment.
I love the mat for myself but I also want all of you to experience it as well. We’ll definitely be incorporating the acupressure mat into some of our stretch sessions including our private one on one assisted stretch — almost like a spa treatment in itself.
