How Do You Choose Yourself?

Don’t give your power away to anything or anyone else. We all have choices to make every single day. Some are easier to make than others and some are dictated by outside forces to a certain extent (career, family, personal obligations, etc). Life can be hectic which is why it’s so important to harness your ability to choose in a way that honors what’s most important to you when you can and where you can. 

Use your power to choose. Even in a world where we are managing multiple tasks at once and we’re being pulled in many different directions, it’s important to remember that our choices represent who we are and who we want to become. 

We give our power away all too often. When we have a goal, yet, we are choosing in a way that doesn’t represent what’s most important to us, we are giving our power away. We give our power away to food. We give our power away to stress. We give our power away to our own mindsets at times. 

Choosing yourself doesn’t have to be a huge, profound choice or moment. It can be as big or as small of a choice as you need it to be. Some examples are:

Take 3 minutes of quiet time

Walk for 10 minutes after lunch

Meal prep one meal 

Get up 15 minutes early to journal and meditate

Talk to a friend

Get a massage

Listen to a favorite podcast on your commute

Schedule in your favorite workout

Start the day with an energizing meal

Use portion control

Whatever you choose has to work for you in a way that can be integrated easily. Choosing you should not add a layer of stress but rather feel like a way to be true to yourself.
