Refreshing PINEAPPLE + JALAPEÑO SMOOTHIE

There’s something about summer that makes smoothies hit differently. They’re cold, refreshing, easy to throw together, and one of the simplest ways to pack hydration, color, fiber, and nutrients into your day — especially when it’s too hot to cook or your appetite feels lighter.

This Pineapple + Jalapeño Smoothie has been a longtime favorite because it’s energizing, refreshing, and just a little unexpected. The sweetness of pineapple paired with the kick of jalapeño creates the perfect balance of bright, fresh, and spicy. It’s the kind of smoothie that wakes you up and makes you feel good from the inside out.

And while I’m never someone who believes a smoothie is “magic,” I do think smoothies can be an incredibly supportive wellness tool. They’re an easy way to add more greens, hydration, fiber, and nutrients into your routine without overcomplicating things.

What I love most about this smoothie is that it feels light while still being functional. It works well as:

What Makes This Smoothie Supportive for Wellness

This smoothie combines hydration, fiber, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory ingredients in a way that feels practical and approachable — not extreme.

Pineapple
Pineapple brings natural sweetness, vitamin C, hydration, and digestive support. It also gives the smoothie that tropical summer flavor that makes it genuinely enjoyable to drink.

Kale
Kale adds fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals without overpowering the flavor once blended with pineapple. If you’re someone who struggles to get enough greens in throughout the day, smoothies are one of the easiest places to start.

Celery
Celery adds hydration, minerals, and freshness. It’s especially great during warmer months when hydration and electrolyte balance become even more important.

Jalapeño
The jalapeño gives this smoothie its signature kick. If you enjoy spicy foods, you’ll probably love the contrast with the sweet pineapple. If you’re sensitive to spice, you can absolutely reduce the amount or swap it for fresh ginger instead.

Turmeric
Turmeric adds anti-inflammatory support and pairs surprisingly well with the tropical flavors in this smoothie.





Easy Summer Smoothie Upgrades

Want to customize it? Here are a few ideas:

For More Protein

  • Add vanilla protein powder

  • Add Greek yogurt

  • Add collagen peptides

For More Fiber

  • Add chia seeds

  • Add flax seeds

  • Add extra kale or spinach

For More Hydration

  • Add coconut water

  • Add cucumber

  • Add extra ice

For Less Spice

  • Use half a jalapeño

  • Swap jalapeño for ginger

  • Omit completely

For a Tropical Twist

  • Add mango

  • Add lime juice

Pineapple + JALAPEÑO Recipe

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 2 Celery Stalks – rough chop

  • 2 Cups Kale – rough chop

  • 1 Large Jalapeño – whole (you could substitute this for ginger if preferred)

  • 1/2 tsp Tumeric Powder

  • 1 1/4 C fresh pineapple – rough chop *getting canned pineapple will add sugar and decrease nutrient value

  • 1 Scoop Amazing Grass (comes in 7 different flavors so pick your favorite to change the flavor of the smoothie)

  • 8 – 10 oz Filtered Water

  • Ice


DIRECTIONS

Set up a blender or nutri-bullet (some blenders may require you to chop produce smaller to blend smoothly – please adjust accordingly to your device). I used a Vitamix which is a high speed blender that blends super smooth and creamy and has many functions.

  • Add water to bottom of blender or Vitamix (adding liquid first will help to make sure all ingredients are blended well).

  • Add celery and kale and blend until incorporated.

  • Next, drop in jalapeño, turmeric powder and pineapple and keep blending.

  • Drop in your scoop of amazing grass.

  • Add a few ice cubes (or as many as you’d like) and blend until completely smooth without any chunks or bits of vegetables.

  • Enjoy!

**This smoothie can also be juiced if you prefer rather than drinking it as a smoothie.

Keep It Simple + Make It Work for You

This is where I always encourage people to take a balanced approach.

You do not need to drink “perfect” smoothies.
You do not need to overload your blender with 17 superfoods.
And you definitely do not need to force yourself to drink smoothies you don’t actually enjoy.

Instead:

Start with what sounds good to you

Maybe that means adding less kale.
Maybe it means swapping jalapeño for ginger.
Maybe it means making it sweeter with extra pineapple.

That’s okay.

Focus on adding — not restricting

One of the easiest wellness shifts is simply adding more nutrients into your routine consistently. More greens. More hydration. More fiber. More color. More protein if needed.

That mindset tends to feel far more sustainable than constantly trying to eliminate foods.

Pair smoothies with protein when needed

If you want this smoothie to feel more balanced or filling, especially as a meal, consider adding:

  • Plain Greek yogurt

  • Protein powder

  • Collagen peptides

  • Hemp seeds

  • Chia seeds

This helps support fullness, blood sugar balance, energy, and muscle maintenance.

Frozen fruit works beautifully

Fresh produce is great, but frozen pineapple or frozen kale are excellent options too — especially during busy weeks or when you want to reduce food waste.

Don’t overthink it

Healthy eating does not need to be complicated to be supportive. Sometimes a smoothie is just a really easy way to help yourself feel a little better, more energized, and more nourished.
