What’s New at Seagate: Reopenings & New Spaces
Exciting news—the Beach Club restaurant, Mr. Sea's, and our upstairs lounge have reopened! With a beautifully refreshed interior and an updated menu, the Beach Club continues to offer stunning views and a relaxed ambiance perfect for enjoying lunch or dinner. Additional spaces, including our redesigned lobby and the all-new café, are set to open the week of Thanksgiving, adding even more options for gathering and unwinding. To top it all off, Bourbon Steak is coming to Seagate in January 2025—an exciting addition to our culinary lineup!
Focus on Wellness: Nervous System Regulation & Mindset Momentum
Learning how to regulate your nervous system can help you stay calm, focused, and resilient in the face of stress. Sometimes, stress arises as a natural response to the changes we’re making in our beliefs and thought patterns—our mindset. Consider it this way: over time, you’ve developed belief systems and mental habits around many aspects of your life, some positive and others limiting. Unwinding these deeply ingrained systems takes time, practice, and a great deal of patience with yourself. This is where nervous system regulation becomes a powerful tool to support your journey.
As part of our Mindset Momentum program—a new 12-week course in the wellness shop—participants can explore mindset education, hands-on tools, a Mindset Momentum journal for reflections, six affirmation collections, and regular check-ins to track progress. Here are three simple but effective tools to help you start regulating your nervous system:
Practice Deep Breathing
Techniques like box breathing or the 4-7-8 method activate the body’s relaxation response, reducing heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and shifting you away from “fight-or-flight” mode. This is a fast, effective way to manage stress and anxiety.Tip: Try five minutes of deep breathing during your morning or evening routine. Regular practice builds resilience over time!
Incorporate Mindfulness and Meditation
Mindfulness and meditation are powerful tools for bringing your attention to the present moment. Regular practice has been shown to decrease stress and help you become more aware of your thoughts and emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them.Tip: Start small with a daily five-minute meditation session, gradually extending it as you become more comfortable.
Engage in Physical Activity
Exercise releases endorphins and helps lower cortisol levels. Consistent, moderate exercise like walking, cycling, or yoga is an effective way to keep your nervous system balanced and build resilience to stress.Tip: Even a 10-minute walk outside can significantly calm your nervous system. No need for an intense workout to reap the benefits!
