Seafood Kale Salad

Seafood Kale Salad

Superfood – it’s one of the biggest phrases in nutrition right now. Superfood indicates a food that is nutrient dense and will benefit the body on a deep nutritional level. Everyone wants superfoods these days. Our guests that come to our fitness retreat love to talk about superfoods and how they can get more of them. It’s a great conversation because there is some confusion out there. There are like a zillion shake diets out there (I will not name any of them) who claim to be selling “superfoods”. I’m here to tell you that superfoods don’t come in the form of a processed meal replacement shake. They just don’t.

Superfoods are -> Whole, unprocessed, colorful foods.

Cheeseburger Salad

Cheeseburger Salad

I love cheeseburgers. I know there are others out there who love a good burger. Give me a medium rare, high quality beef (or grass-fed beef) burger and I’m so happy. I love a delicious, juicy burger and fries. I’m just like everyone else and I have my “comfort food” loves. As much as I love a burger and fries, I also know that a burger and fries combo isn’t the healthiest out there for me. So I created a perfect, low carb and healthier option to a burger!

Easy, balanced breakfasts are sometimes hard to come by. I know if you’re like me and my family, we need things that can be eaten easily without a lot of preparation in the morning. Or we need an option when we’re running out the door that can grabbed quickly and taken on the go.

These protein breakfast parfaits are perfect for busy mornings and they can also be enjoyed slowly even if you aren’t in a rush. Plus, you can meal prep them ahead of time and use them as a healthy treat or snack too.

Triple Berry Breakfast Cookies (Gluten Free)

Triple Berry Breakfast Cookies (Gluten Free)

Easy breakfast options are my go-to on work days. Mornings are rushed often times in my household and I typically eat on the way out the door or in the car. I know this isn’t ideal but it’s life and it’s the truth. I need something I can grab and go and run out the door on the way to work.

If you’re like me or in a household where you have multiple tasks to manage in the mornings (kids, bus to meet, work, etc) then you know how it is when you just want to grab a healthy bite to go. Sometimes I want to actually eat food rather than blend up a protein shake. These have been a great option when I want to chew.

These breakfast cookies are delicious and not very sweet. They’re easy to whip up the night before so you don’t have to spend a ton of time meal prepping.
